Scoring Open-Ended Questions

Many of the questions in the resources you assign will be multiple choice and true-false. However, some may be open-ended, and require students to input a short essay-style answer, which you must score yourself.

When you visit the Assignments home page, Assignments requiring scoring for open-ended questions will display Score Now in the Scoring Needed column.

To score open-ended questions:

  1. Click Score Now.

The page refreshes, displaying the Assignment you selected for the Class and Book.

  2. Click Show Unscored Items.

A pop-up window appears, displaying all unscored items as hyperlinks.

  1. Click the link for the question you want to score.

The pop-up window refreshes, displaying the question and student answer.
