Assigning a Test or Quiz

Before you begin

Before assigning a test or quiz to your students, choose a Class and Book from the drop-down menus at the top of the page. You can do this from the Holt Online Assessment Welcome page or the Assignments page. When you select a Class, the Book drop-down menu is populated with the products associated with the Class you selected. You associate products with classes from the Holt Online Learning My Subscriptions page.

Active assignments are assignments that have not yet come due. By clearing this checkbox the user may see all assignments ever made to the selected class.

To assign a test or quiz

1. Select a Class and Book.
2. Select an Assignment Category (Tests and Quizzes) and Grade.
   Note: You have the option of viewing all assignable content or only assignments you have made. You may also show only active assignments (due dates have not passed) by filling in the check box. When the ‘View all assignments made’ button is selected, you may also create an offline activity by clicking Create Offline Activity.

3. Click Submit.
   A list of Assignments appears.

4. To view the Assignment, click View.
   A new window opens, displaying the Assignment, with the correct answers indicated by a green arrow and a note below each question-and-answer set.
   OR
   To Assign the Assignment, click the link, Assign.
   The settings for this Assignment appear below the Assignment name.

5. Click Yes to make the test always available. Note: The assignment will have no ending date.
   OR
   Click No, then select beginning and ending dates. 

6. Click Submit.
